Questions from founders

Building your startup out of WareSpace

The practical questions hardware founders ask before they tour, on prototyping, assembly, fulfillment, scaling, and cost.

Is WareSpace a fit for a hardware or robotics startup?

Yes. Hardware, robotics, and IoT startups use WareSpace as a professional home for prototyping, hardware assembly, and fulfillment, a private unit with power, fast WiFi, racking, HVAC, and 24/7 access, without the overhead of a full warehouse.

Can I run hardware assembly and prototyping in the unit?

Yes. Quiet-to-moderate hardware assembly, prototyping, and testing fit well, with plenty of power and fast WiFi. Because neighboring units are close by, work that requires loud machinery or heavy industrial operation is not a good fit.

Can I store inventory and fulfill orders too?

Yes. Many startups combine prototyping and small-scale production with inventory storage and order fulfillment in the same unit, using shared loading docks and industrial racking to ship hardware and kits.

Can I work from the unit, or do I need a separate office?

You can work right from the unit, there are plenty of outlets and fast WiFi, and dedicated office spaces and conference rooms are available on site for focused work and investor or customer meetings.

Can the space scale with the company?

Yes. Units run from about 200 to 2,000+ square feet on short 6- to 12-month terms, so you can size up as the team and hardware grow, or down to a minimum of 200 square feet, without locking into a long-term lease or a personal guarantee.

Power specs, and is it okay for servers or crypto?

Units come with 120V/20-amp power standard, with higher capacity available on request for benches and equipment. Ceilings allow safe stacking up to about 12 feet on racking, and the on-site General Manager can receive parts deliveries for you. Note that the units aren't set up for crypto-mining or server-farm operations.

How much does a startup warehouse unit cost?

Units start at $1,000/mo, all-inclusive, covering HVAC climate control, shared loading docks, racking, 24/7 access, WiFi, utilities, and amenities. No CAM charges, no triple-net (NNN) surprises, and no personal guarantee.

How do I know if my business is an acceptable use?

Most storage, fulfillment, distribution, and light commercial uses are a fit. A few uses need General Manager approval first, such as last-mile delivery, coffee roasting, or battery storage, and a handful aren't permitted, including auto repair, indoor vehicle storage, food manufacturing, welding or spray painting, and crypto-mining. See the full acceptable use policy at warespace.com/resources/acceptable-use, or just tell us what you do and we'll confirm your fit before you sign.
